Our Team:
YachtCare has an experienced management team and a group of technicians who have all worked in the industry for several years.

Jim Brown—General Manager:
Jim is a veteran in the field of boat repair and maintenance. Since 1986, Jim has worked in the marine industry. For eight years he managed boat yard activities for two of Seattle's largest boat yards. Jim has also managed the construction of ultra light sailboats. Jim's hands-on experience, customer relationship abilities, and management skills all result in the delivery of high quality customer service.

 

Paul Chatel—Technician:
Paul started working in the marine industry in 1989 for LeClercq Marine. He installed hydraulic systems on commercial fishing boats. In 1991, Paul switched to yachts at Seaview boatyard. Paul did mechanical, electrical, and rigging work at Seaview. He was with Seaview for nine years, and rose through the ranks to lead mechanic and then assistant manager. Paul is very versatile, and equally capable whether doing technical work, estimates, or talking to customers. Paul is active in Puget Sound sailboat racing, and also delivers boats from Hawaii to the west coast now and then.

Paul is ABYC certified in Marine Electrical.  He is also NMEA certifed Advance Marine Electronics Installation and 2000 Networking.

David Stearns—Technician:
Dave has been working in the marine field since 1975 where he began at Fisheries Supply. Here he became acquainted with all facets of boat parts and supply, met all the people in the industry, and it was during this time that he became active in sailboat racing. To this day, Dave is active in racing circles.

After a brief stint in automotive parts, Dave returned to the marine industry as a technician working on local boats. In 1986, he joined the crew at Seaview East boatyard. For 17 years, Dave worked installing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and rigging systems. Dave has done major and minor refits, and helped clients through these projects. Dave assumed duties as lead mechanic, and then co-manager of the yard in the last few years. Dave joined YachtCare in 2003, and has been very successful at pairing YachtCare clients and their boating experiences with system repairs, refits, and upgrades. On weekends, Dave can be found racing on Puget Sound.

Dave is ABYC Certified in Marine Electrical, Marine Systems, and Marine Corrosion.  He is also NMEA certified Advance Marine Electronic Installtion and 2000 Networking.  .

Court Percival—Technician:
Court started his boating career as a youngster growing up in an active boating family. He's cruised the San Juans, Gulf Islands, and Puget Sound extensively, and joined the Sea Explorer ship "Odyssey" in 1992. Here he learned to love maintaining the ship. After seven years of working on this ship, he joined Foss Environmental as a hazmat responder working his way to the vessel service side as he grew in the company. Court joined YachtCare in 2004 and has continued to grow in his craft of repairing and maintaining yachts. When not working, Court is either sailing or working on his 36' Islander sailboat.

Court is a Certified VacuFlush Technician.  He has extensive experiance in Marine Plumbing systems.

Steve Mitchlich—Technician: Steve is a certified Diesel Mechanic with experience in Hydraulics and Power Generation Systems.  Upon graduation of High School Steve worked on commercial fishing vessel in Alaska and the Puget Sound.  After a few years Steve ventured into Aviation Mechanics.  He received a certificate in Airframe and Power Plant Licensing with Inspection Authorization in 1998.   Since his certification Steve has kept his w/inspection authorization status buy passing the FAA’s rigours requirements every year.   He joined YachtCare in 2008. Ready for a new direction in his career Steve wanted to return to the marine industry.  

 

Jim Jacobs—Technician:
Jim has worked in the recreational marine industry since 1976. After a stint in the U.S. Navy as a machinist mate from 1977-1981, Jim worked in various marine repair shops in San Diego from 1982-1987. From 1987-1993, Jim worked as a mechanic and is certified by many engine manufacturers after completing their respective training courses. Jim has also served as a service manager and parts manager for northwest boat repair companies. Jim's depth of experience in the northwest marine scene helps him and YachtCare to provide high quality, efficient service. When not working on boats, Jim is an avid fly fisherman

Stina Luttrell—Office Manager:
Stina has worked in the marine industry for over 9 years.  After graduating from the University of Washington, double majoring in Pyschology and Anthropolgy, Stina went to work for a successful local boatyard, where she expaned her knowldege of boating.  She joined YachtCare in 2008.  Stina is native to the puget sound, growing up in Poulsbo, and enjoys all the area has to offer.
